I live in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. I teach at home, as well as go to local schools. I am also a memeber of the Swindon Music Co-operative, and of the Malmesbury Music Academy where I teach piano on a Saturday morning.

I have Licentiates in both flute and piano from Trinity College of Music, London. In recent years I have studied Jazz and Latin piano, and played flute in Latin/ Cuban bands. I also studied to specifically learn to teach the Piano Grades 1-V Jazz Exams ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) pieces in 2010, which gave me a valuable insight to these wonderful pieces and exactly what is expected from a pupil in these exams. I still love classical music though and most of my pupils learn classical, but I have benefitted through expanding my repertoire.

My Philosophy

Everyone can enjoy and play music, it is up to the teacher and student to find their way

‘A progressive educator’s task is to unveil opportunities for hope- without hope there is little we can do’ Paulo Freire- someone who has greatly inspired me in all of my teaching.

Education is a life long experience of continual learning. Playing a musical instrument is an example of this- it takes commitment and time. I hope to support anyone along this exciting road of discovery in their lives.

‘Caroline helped me start to play the piano again after many years. I thought I was no good at all, but she always made me feel I could do it, and have got so much pleasure from taking lessons again’

‘My son always really looks forwards to his lessons- it is no effort for him to come each week’.

'Thank you so much for sending the children’s recordings over.
I played them at full volume and they were so chuffed to hear themselves.
They would be honoured to feature on your website.'

'I still cannot believe you taught them what you did - it’s incredible.
It’s really given them confidence and made them believe that they too can create and contribute musically'.
